A 28-year-old St. Cloud man died Tuesday morning when his car crashed into the side of a Publix semi that was making a U-turn on U.S. 192 east of St. Cloud near Nova Rd, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.,
According to FHP, the Pubix semitrailer was heading east in the left lane of US 192 west of Bradley Drive when the driver attempted to make a U-turn to head west. In doing so, the semitrailer was blocking the westbound lanes and was in the direct path of an oncoming 2022 Honda Accord. Florida Troopers said the front of the Honda hit the side of the semi and went underneath the trailer.
The Publix semitrailer’s driver, a 37-year-old Orlando woman, was uninjured, and remained on the scene, according to the FHP.
The 28-year-old driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the crash report. The crash is still under investigation.
