A 32-year-old Sanford woman is dead after an early Friday morning crash that ended with her car submerged in a lake near Celebration High School in Osceola County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash took place near 3:10 am near Celebration Boulevard and World Drive nf Celebration High.
According to the FHP, the woman was driving south on World Drive when she for an unknown reason failed to stop at an intersection then struck a curb. Troopers said the impact caused the car to “vault” over a wall and into the lake.
The woman’s body car was found underwater by a dive team from the Orlando Fire Department and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
