Osceola History is bringing the community together this fall with two exciting events that celebrate local sports heritage while raising funds to preserve one of Osceola County’s most treasured historic sites.
The festivities begin with the grand opening of “Out of the Park: Osceola County Sports” on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum, located at 4155 W. Vine St. in Kissimmee.
This free exhibit will showcase jerseys, memorabilia, and photographs highlighting decades of athletic achievements in Osceola County. Guests will enjoy light appetizers and beverages while exploring how sports have shaped the community’s culture and spirit.
The celebration continues with Cider & Showdowns on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek, 2491 Babb Rd. in Kissimmee. This family-friendly fundraiser invites visitors to test their skills in pioneer-style games, shop from local vendors, enjoy live music, and take part in a raffle. Admission is just $5, with all proceeds benefiting the restoration of Pioneer Village’s cow camp, a project estimated at $6,000 to rethatch and preserve this historic site.
“Out of the Park: Osceola County Sports” provides an opportunity to look back at the athletes and teams that made their mark on Osceola County, while Cider & Showdowns offers families a chance to make memories together—all in support of protecting local history.
Osceola History, founded in 1949, operates the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum and the Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek, welcoming more than 17,000 visitors annually. Through exhibits, field trips, and special events, the organization continues its mission to collect, preserve, and share the rich cultural and natural heritage of Osceola County.
