The City of Kissimmee Fire Department swiftly responded to a structure fire Wednesday afternoon in the Mallard Creek subdivision after receiving a call just shortly after 2pm.

When crews arrived, they encountered heavy flames engulfing the garage of a home, with the fire extending to a nearby vehicle. Smoke was seen coming from the garage as the blaze spread to the first and second floors of the home, compromising the structure’s stability.

Firefighters worked swiftyly to contain and extinguish the fire. Fortunately, the residents were able to evacuate safely before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported.

“Our crews acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent further damage to items in the home and surrounding area,” said Battalion Chief Ryan Appleman of the Kissimmee Fire Department. “We appreciate the support from our partner agencies and are thankful everyone made it out safely.”

Additional assistance was provided by Osceola County Fire Rescue, while the Kissimmee Police Department managed traffic control during temporary road closures.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been notified and will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
