Osceola County officials, led by Commissioner Brandon Arrington,  joined community partners Tuesday to celebrate the grand opening of Falcon Trace II, a 354-unit affordable housing community in Kissimmee designed to serve working families and promote long-term housing stability.

Located near the Poinciana SunRail Station at 1455 Falcon Trace Circle, the $117 million development was made possible through a partnership between the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, Birdsong Housing Partners, Professional Management, Inc. (PMI), and major financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase Bank and Bank of America.

“Projects like Falcon Trace II show what’s possible when local government, private partners, and our community work together to meet the needs of working families,” said Osceola County Commissioner Brandon Arrington, who led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Today, we don’t just cut a ribbon — we open a door to opportunity.”

The new community features one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for households earning up to 60 percent of the area’s median income. The transit-oriented location offers easy access to jobs, schools, and essential services through nearby SunRail connections.

Falcon Trace II includes a wide range of amenities such as a resort-style pool, playgrounds, a fitness room, computer lab, dog park, and Energy Star-rated appliances. The complex also features a satellite office for the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, reinforcing safety and community engagement.

Nearly $22 million in county funding and a land contribution helped make the project possible, alongside additional support from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, the Osceola County Housing Finance Agency, and state programs such as SAIL, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and Tax-Exempt Mortgage Revenue Bonds.

The development is expected to remain affordable for at least 50 years, providing lasting stability and opportunity for hundreds of Osceola County families.

“Falcon Trace II represents an investment not only in housing, but in people and opportunity,” Arrington said. “Each new home reflects our commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities.”
