The Osceola Magic tipped off the 2025-26 NBA G League season in commanding fashion Friday night, defeating the Texas Legends 134-113 at Osceola Heritage Park.

Orlando two-way player Colin Castleton set the tone early and never looked back, recording a 27-point, 13-rebound double-double on an efficient 12-of-20 shooting night. The 6-foot-10 forward also anchored a strong defensive performance that kept the Legends at bay.

The Legends, led by Miles Kelly’s 26 points, had six players score in double figures but couldn’t slow Osceola’s balanced attack. Dalano Banton added 18 points for Texas, yet it was Osceola’s mix of returning players and new faces that fueled the night’s momentum.

Returning players Alex Morales and Javonte Smart joined Castleton in showcasing veteran leadership, while newcomers Lester Quiñones (25 points, 4-of-8 from three) and Jamal Cain (18 points on 8-of-12 shooting) electrified the crowd of 2,035 fans. Justin Minaya turned defense into offense with five steals—three leading directly to fast-break dunks that brought the house to its feet.

Head Coach Dylan Murphy praised his team’s focus and chemistry out of the gate:

“Our buy-in level right now is really high from a team perspective,” Murphy said. “We know we have the talent, but it’s all about sharing the ball, defending, and doing the little things—and I thought we did that really well tonight.”

The Osceola Magic, the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, were the 2025 Eastern Conference Champions and the 2021 G League Champions.
