Harmony Claims Fourth Straight OBC Baseball Title as Trevin Bean Dominates in Championship Win Over St. Cloud

CELEBRATION, FL – Junior Trevin Bean allowed one run and scattered seven hits over six innings of work to lead Harmony to the 2026 Orange Belt Conference baseball championship with an 8-1 win over rival St. Cloud on Friday night.

Despite giving up three hits and a run in the first frame, Bean was masterful the rest of the way – giving up just four singles without allowing a walk. His 18 recorded outs came via either strikeout (7) or groundout (9).

“My change-up was really on tonight,” Bean said. “I always have a lot of confidence with the defense I have behind me, and they were great again tonight. I was able to get hitters to beat a lot of balls into the ground tonight and my defense just did the rest.”

Trailing early 1-0, Harmony would score all the runs they would need in the fourth – sending nine men to the plate and scoring four runs. Angel Medina and Sebastian Tabares led off the rally with back-to-back singles before Chase Bartlett loaded the bases with a bunt single. Pinch-hitter Shawn Barbrant brought home the tying run by drawing a walk off St. Cloud starter Jack Ewalt.

Harmony went ahead on Jose Scrofani’s bunt single and Bartlett scored on Yadiel Perez’s groundout. The Longhorns added a run on a wild pitch to make it 4-1. They plated an insurance run in the fifth as Medina walked, stole second and third and scored on Bartlett’s ground out.

With Bean in control, Harmony added two more on an Elijah Ramirez single in the sixth and capped the scoring on Brabant’s RBI double in the seventh.

With the victory, Harmony won for fifth time in their last six games and moved to 13-8 on the season. They also became just the second team in 46 years to win four straight Orange Belt Conference championships – matching the 2005-08 Osceola team.

“We’re starting to play some pretty good baseball,” Longhorns’ coach Heath Williams said. “Tonight was probably the best overall game we have played this year. We didn’t have a lot of experience coming back this season and we had everyone sort of doing their own thing. Over the last couple of weeks, a light sort of went off and these guys started to understand the importance of doing the little things right – stealing a base, moving a runner over, not falling behind in counts.”

Williams added he was really pleased with Bean’s performance. “He had a rough start this year.” he said of Bean, who entered the game with a 6.82 ERA. “Tonight he looked like a lot more like his sophomore year, when he was one of our top pitchers.”

St. Cloud fell to 16-5 on the year, coming up one game short of winning their first OBC title since 2003. “We were a little flat tonight, and that’s going to happen in this game,” St. Cloud coach David Blackmore said. “Give them the credit, they played a good game and he (Bean) pitched a solid game. We’re 1-1 against them this season (the Bulldogs beat Harmony 3-2 back on March 6) and they are in our district so hopefully we will get another shot at them in the post-season.”

Nathan Bianco, Jose Alvarado, and Adrian Carradero had two hits each for St. Cloud. Ewalt struck out five in his 3.2 inning stint.
