Dustin Bronson, a seventh-generation Osceola County resident, is a member of a pioneer cattle family of Osceola County. He was raised on his family’s ranch in Kissimmee and Clermont, watching his grandfather, mother, and uncle produce local ropings through different associations that he has been a part of locally and nationally. Tonight, Saturday June 4, he will welcome rodeo fans from all over the Southeast to the 149th Silver Spurs Rodeo, for his final rodeo as Big Boss of the Silver Spurs Riding Club.

No stranger to rodeo or the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Dustin has grown up in the Silver Spurs Riding Club and is the grandson of one of the founding members, Charles “Shang” Bronson. Dustin is a third-generation “Big Boss” and is excited to carry on this family tradition. He has fond memories of his granddaddy and dad working the Spur’s stock, being a contestant, and roping with his uncle at the Silver Spurs Rodeo. His mother, Joyce Marie Bronson, was a member of the Quadrille and has since spent numerous hours behind the scenes in concessions and the hospitality room. Dustin has worked alongside plenty of family and friends in producing one of the largest rodeos east of the Mississippi – the Silver Spurs Rodeo.

Dustin has spent many years as a member of the PRCA, United States Team Roping Championship (USTRC), and National Team Roping League (NTRL). His rodeo career began when he was 11-years old, competing in junior rodeo and USTRC roping events. He continues to be an avid team roper and has competed all over Florida and out west.

Dustin is blessed to have met his wife Sydnye at the Silver Spurs Rodeo in 2008. They have two sons, Cantyn (12) and Cylr (10), that keep them remarkably busy. He has passed down his roping knowledge to his two boys and loves that it is a family affair, much like the values of the Silver Spurs. Dustin and his wife own a business in Saint Cloud that offers mulching, fence work, hauling, and cattle services.

Whether it is filling up ice machines for the concession stands, pushing stock out of the arena, or helping his sons in the Pee Wee Quadrille, Dustin has always loved serving the Silver Spurs Riding Club and will once again have the opportunity when the Silver Spurs Riding Club welcomes rodeo fans at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park!
