Walt Disney World Resort has announced the opening date of its upcoming “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at the Harambe Theater.

On May 15, 2021, LIVE entertainment and Disney performers will continue to return to Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, with “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” being presented in a modified format to be mindful of the current environment. The show features music and characters from the classic Disney film “The Lion King.”

Walt Disney World made the announcement Saturday as “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” began technical rehearsals for a limited number of guests.

Walt Disney World’s President Jeff Vahle posted on his Instagram in April that one of Disney’s longest-running theme park shows, the Festival of the Lion King, which takes place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, was back rehearsing and would return in mid-May.

Showtimes for “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” will be listed in the My Disney Experience app.
