Downtown Kissimmee was transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday night as the City of Kissimmee Festival of Lights Parade brought holiday cheer to thousands of residents and visitors. The annual night-time parade offered a magical evening of festive fun, family activities, and a dazzling parade that illuminated the streets.

The festivities kicked off with the Holiday Festival near Kissimmee’s City Hall, where attendees enjoyed a variety of activities from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) Kidz Power Zone was a big hit, featuring bounce houses, cookie decorating, and hands-on activities that kept children engaged and entertained. Families lined up for free photos with Santa, while others took part in crafting personalized ornaments or penning their holiday wishes through the Letters to Santa program.

“The Holiday Festival was amazing! My kids loved the Letters to Santa program, and the new location near City Hall felt so welcoming and organized,” said Emily Martinez, a Kissimmee resident. “Kissimmee really knows how to bring the holiday spirit to life.”

As the sun set, the main event began: the Festival of Lights Parade, which kicked off at 7:30 p.m. in Historic Downtown Kissimmee. This year’s parade followed a new route, winding along Broadway, Sproule Street, Church Street, and Stewart Avenue. The updated route allowed for greater visibility and more space for spectators, which many paradegoers praised.

“The new parade route was perfect,” said Carlos Rodriguez, a long-time attendee from Osceola County. “It gave everyone a great view, and the lights reflecting off the buildings downtown added an extra layer of magic. Kudos to the City of Kissimmee for making this happen!”

The parade featured vibrant, brightly lit floats, performers in dazzling costumes, and festive music that had the crowd singing along. Local businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations came together to create a spectacle that embodied the holiday spirit.

“My favorite part was the floats—so much effort went into them,” said Linda Jefferson, a visitor from Orlando. “And the City of Kissimmee deserves all the credit for hosting such a beautiful event. This is what the holidays are all about.”

Mayor Jackie Espinosa greeted the cheering crowds with a warm wave as she made her way through the glowing, festive streets of Downtown Kissimmee. Joining her in the celebration were Deputy Mayor Angela Eady and City Commissioner Janette Martinez, both of whom shared smiles and holiday cheer with the delighted spectators lining the parade route.

Mayor Jackie Espinosa reflected on the importance of the event for the community. “The Festival of Lights Parade has long been a cherished tradition in our city, and we’re excited to bring this magical celebration to the vibrant heart of Downtown Kissimmee,” she said. “It’s an opportunity for families to come together, share in the joy of the season, and create wonderful memories.”

Paradegoers shared similar sentiments, praising the event for fostering a sense of unity and community spirit. “This parade brings everyone together,” said Brian Carter, a Kissimmee local who brought his entire family. “It’s not just an event; it’s a tradition we look forward to every year.”

The night concluded with cheers and applause from the crowd as the final float passed by, leaving attendees with warm memories and holiday cheer. As the lights dimmed and the crowds dispersed, one thing was clear: Kissimmee’s Festival of Lights Parade continues to be a hallmark of the season, bringing magic and joy to all who attend.
