Travel Insurance: A Must-Have
AAA recommends travelers protect their investment with travel insurance. “A good policy can cover medical expenses, lost luggage, or flight delays,” said Haas, ensuring peace of mind during these adventures.
Savings on the Road
For those hitting the highways, gas prices have dropped compared to summer. The national average for gas during the summer was $3.47 per gallon, and it’s now hovering around $3.01 in some regions like Wisconsin. Travelers are expected to pay less at the pump compared to last year’s fall rates.
Better Car Rental Deals
Renting a car this fall is also more affordable, with domestic car rental rates down 5% and international rentals dropping by 15%. Cities like Boston, Denver, Portland (Maine and Oregon!), Montreal, and Vancouver are some of the top spots seeing an increase in demand from leaf-peeping travelers.
As fall sets in, it’s clear that travel continues to be a popular choice for those seeking scenic getaways, smaller crowds, and budget-friendly options. Whether traveling by air, land, or sea, autumn has something for everyone.
