If you feel like the right way to start 2020 is by welcoming a new cat or dog to your home and family, Osceola County Animal Services has a deal for you — but you have to act by the end of the week.

Through Saturday afternoon, the facility on Old Canoe Creek Road just south of Neptune Road is offering cat and dog adoptions for just $20. The special applies to cats over one year old and dogs over one year old and 30 pounds, but it’s a great offer and time to to add a new addition to the family for 2020.

Rescue or shelter pets are preferable to buying from a pet store, where the animal may have come from an unknown pet mill. Adopting from a facility like Osceola County Animal Services means saving one of the more than six million cats, dogs and other animals who enter U.S. animal shelters each year, according to PETA.
The Humane Society estimates more than one million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because so many people don’t consider adoption when looking for a pet.

Go check out the facility on Old Canoe Creek Road just south of Neptune Road to find your newest four-legged friend. For information call Animal Services at 407-742-8000.

Here’s to keeping the streets of Osceola safe tonight and every night to come in the new decade!
