Monday Night Football made it’s way to Central Florida Monday night with the Lake Nona Lions hosting the St. Cloud Bulldogs. The game was actually a reschedule from September 15 which was affected by Hurricane Irma.

Lions quarterback Michael Kern came out of the gate quick and passed 19 of 30 for the day. The Lions attack seem to catch the Bulldogs off guard and by the second quarter of the game the score was 21-7 Lions, but the Dogs weren’t about to see their playoff chances fade away and fought back to tie the game at 21 with power runs by Seth Johnson and Charles Robinson.

Lake Nona showed that wasn’t going to be the way of the game by hitting back hard with an 80-yard drive. After a 25-yard pass to Anthony Manning the Bulldogs were hit with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which brought a moment of “unsettled exchanges” between the two teams. Coaches from both sides quickly managed the moment and the game continued on. The second half was all Lake Nona as they scored 28 unanswered points.

Bulldog QB Colt Smith was 18 of 24 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

St. Cloud will face another district team this Friday night against the winless Celebration.
