On Tuesday the City of Kissimmee Commission showed its heart by donating $4,000 to assist Osceola High School’s Varsity Football Team travel and compete in the state championship this Saturday, December 19, 2020, in Tallahassee, Florida.
In a Varsity football impacted by COVID-19, the Kowboys, led by Head Coach Doug Nichols, have excelled, winning all their postseason games and will face undefeated Seminole High School at 1 p.m. for the FHSAA Class 8A State Championship. It will be the Kowboys’ 3rd state finals appearance under Head Coach Doug Nichols.
“Tonight’s action by the Commission to help support the Kowboys was an opportunity for the City to show its support for its hometown team,” said Mayor Olga Gonzalez. “We’re proud of the hard work by the team and the hard work by the coaching staff during the season, and we look forward to them bringing home the trophy.”
The Osceola Kowboys’ has approximately 60 boys on the roster who will be traveling to the state capital for the Florida High School Athletic Association’s (FHSAA) Class 8A state championship. The Kowboys will fight for the title against Seminole High School.
