The City of Kissimmee is set to kick off its annual Black History Month Reception today, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., at the Rain Garden of Kissimmee City Hall, located at 101 Church Street.

This vibrant community celebration will honor the rich cultural heritage and contributions of African Americans in Kissimmee and beyond. City officials, local artists, performers, and community members will gather for an evening of artistic expression, appreciation, and recognition.

Attendees can enjoy an art exhibit presented by Osceola Arts, live musical performances, and a selection of food and drinks. The event will also highlight the contributions of local artists and performers, who will be recognized with certificates of appreciation.

At 6:00 p.m., during the City Commission meeting, a special Black History Month proclamation will be presented, reinforcing the city’s commitment to honoring and celebrating African American history and achievements.

This annual event serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of African American culture and history in Kissimmee and provides a space for the community to come together in celebration.
