The City of Kissimmee’s School of Government is now accepting new students for the nine-week session starting on Thursday, March 28.
This civic education program, coordinated by the Communications & Public Affairs Office, is an effort to explain the City of Kissimmee’s form of government and enlighten residents about the daily operations and services provided on the local government level. This also provides a firsthand look at the City’s operations to set the foundation for residents who are interested in becoming more involved in the City.
The City is currently seeking 30 students to participate in this nine-week course that ends with graduation on Thursday, May 23. Each class starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs through 8:00 p.m., and due to certain activities, students interested must fill and sign a release and waiver to participate.
Residents are eligible to participate in the program if they live, work, study or own a business within the City of Kissimmee limits. Participants must be 18 years of age and older. Due to space limitations, students are not allowed to bring a guest or children to classes.

La Escuela de Gobierno de la Ciudad de Kissimmee (School of Government) acepta a nuevos estudiantes para la sesión de nueve semanas que comienza el jueves, 28 de marzo de 2019.
Este programa educativo es coordinado por la Oficina de Comunicación y Asuntos Públicos. Su propósito es explicar en detalle la forma del gobierno de la Ciudad de Kissimmee y así educar a los residentes sobre las operaciones diarias y servicios disponibles a nivel local. Esta escuela también provee una mirada a las operaciones de la Ciudad. Esto sirve como una base para aquellas personas interesadas en estar más involucrados en la Ciudad.
La Ciudad está en busca de 30 estudiantes que quieran participar de este curso de nueve semanas, y que termina con una graduación el jueves, 23 de mayo. Las clases son semanales y comienzan a las 5:30 de la tarde hasta las 8:00 de la noche. Los estudiantes deberán firmar una hoja de relevo para poder participar de ciertas actividades.
Para ser elegible los participantes deberán vivir, trabajar, estudiar o tener un negocio en los límites de la Ciudad de Kissimmee. Los participantes deberán tener 18 años de edad o más para poder solicitar. Debido al espacio limitado, los estudiantes no podrán traer a un acompañante o menores de edad a las clases.
