The City of St. Cloud has announced the appointment of Jabarie Walker as the city’s new Assistant City Manager, bringing a seasoned public policy and government affairs professional to the leadership team as the city continues to advance key initiatives and strengthen its legislative priorities.
In his new role, Walker will work closely with the City Manager’s Office to help oversee the city’s strategic initiatives while also assisting in the development and coordination of St. Cloud’s legislative agenda at the state and federal levels.
Walker brings extensive experience in public policy, legislative strategy, and government relations. Prior to joining the City of St. Cloud, he served for three years as Deputy Chief of Staff for the City of New Orleans, where he played a key role in supporting executive leadership and coordinating cross-departmental initiatives. Most recently, Walker worked as Chief of Staff for the Housing Authority of New Orleans, helping lead policy development and operational strategy for the organization.
City Manager Veronica Miller expressed confidence in Walker’s ability to contribute to St. Cloud’s continued progress.
“We are excited to have Jabarie join our team,” Miller said. “He is skilled at building relationships with elected officials, community leaders, business groups and non-profit organizations. He also has experience leading state and local advocacy efforts, and we are confident his skills will help the city continue moving forward.”
Throughout his career, Walker has focused on building partnerships across government, community organizations, and the private sector while advancing initiatives designed to improve public services and strengthen communities.
Walker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and brings a strong background in legislative affairs, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership.
His appointment comes as the City of St. Cloud continues to grow and advance initiatives aimed at enhancing services, strengthening infrastructure, and supporting the city’s long-term vision for the community.
