The City of St. Cloud is partnering with CareerSource Central Florida to sponsor up to 20 local high school students for paid internships at local businesses. As part of the five-week program, Addition Financial will provide participating students a financial literacy course to teach them basic financial management skills. The course will include setting up a bank account and learning to save, and Addition will provide $50 per student to get them started.
The City has agreed to spend up to $20,000 from its OUC Business Retention Fund to sponsor up to 20 local high school students for the program.
“The City recognizes the need for a qualified workforce as a feeder in high-wage, high-quality jobs,” said Economic Development Manager Antranette Forbes. “Sponsoring these scholarships is one way the City can help develop the workforce of the future.”
