A 67-year-old man was arrested on Friday for 1st Degree Murder that allegedly took place in a homeless camp in Osceola County.
On Friday, Osceola Deputies were called to a homeless camp located in a wooded area near Siesta Lago Drive and North Poinciana Blvd about a dead body in the camp. Upon arriving deputies found 44-year-old Benjamin Venegas-Banales dead with obvious signs of trauma.
According to Osceola Deputies, Benjamin and 67-year-old Celeo Maldonado-Gala were involved in a verbal argument that lead to a physical fight, ending in Maldonado-Gala killing Benjamin.
Maldonado-Gala cooperated with the investigation and deputies arrested him for 1st degree murder.
