There were two milestones reached in this morning’s Florida Department of Health report of COVID-19 cases: Florida surpassed 150,000 cases, and Osceola County reached the 2,000 mark, the 15th county to get there.

The state added 6,093 new cases and 58 deaths to reach 152,434 and 3,505 respectively. Osceola added 107 cases, and while no new deaths were reported, seven new hospitalizations put that number at 204.

To put this recent rise in cases in perspective, it took Osceola County from March 13, when its first case was discovered, to June 19 to reach 1,000 cases. It reached 2,000 cases in 11 days.
