As of this morning March 29, Florida residents 40 and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida.
“We have made great progress and I look forward to continuing to work hard to make sure everyone in Florida who wants a shot, can get a shot,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said in a video released last week. We have now vaccinated over 70% of the roughly 4.4 million seniors living in the state,” the governor said.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 683,070 vaccine doses will be arriving in Florida this week, an increase of 146,420 from last week.
The next expansion for vaccinations will happen on April 5 and will include anyone over 18 years old.
“We’re ready to take this step,” DeSantis said.
