Former St. Cloud City Council Member and Korean War Veteran John Rallis, who served on the council for four, 2-year terms: 1990-91, and from 1998 through 2003 has passed away.
Mr. Rallis, who also served as Deputy Mayor in 2000 and 2001 had been a salesman for Scotty’s Oil Co. in his 60’s. He was very active in the community serving on the Gateway Advisory Board, Finance Committee, General Pension Board, and the Charter Review Committee.
After leaving the city council, Mr, Rallis continued to help shape an ambitious city project in St. Cloud, called Stevens Plantation.
Most recently, Mr. Rallis participated in the Florida Avenue proposed, multi-use trail development project. He had lived on St. Cloud’s Florida Avenue for over 50 years.
