Help Now of Osceola, an organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse, works tirelessly to bring healing to survivors of domestic violence and influence social change in the community. Last weekend at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, members of the community came together to say thank you, and to show their support of the organization during its ‘Tapas with a Purpose’ fundraising event.

It was an evening of fine wine, tasty tapas, a silent auction, live entertainment by The Administration Band, and lots of other amazing fun, all for a great cause – a cause that saves lives and changes lives in our community – everyday.

Help Now of Osceola County’s “Tapas with a Purpose” event was a fundraiser for the organization and provided an opportunity for members of the community to come together to support a worthy cause while enjoying delicious food. The event featured a variety of tapas dishes from local restaurants and caterers, including deliciously savory steak, meatballs, pulled pork sliders, vegan salads, seafood ceviche, and decadent desserts of every kind. Guests had the opportunity to sample a range of different dishes and flavors, all while supporting Help Now’s mission.

“We are so grateful to everyone who came together to support, donate and attend our Tapas with a Purpose event last Friday. The support we received has been overwhelming and inspirational. It truly takes a community coming together to support survivors and end domestic violence, and our community is making huge strides in doing just that.”

In addition to the food, Tapas with a Purpose also featured a silent auction that offered guests the chance to bid on a variety of items, including vacation packages, artwork by youth, golf outings, jewelry, sporting event tickets, and other unique experiences. The live entertainment featured local Fine and Performing Arts Resource Specialist with the School District, Chris Burns, and Assistant Principal with Parkway School, Steve Reid, adding to the festive atmosphere of the evening.

The event was a success, raising thousands of dollars for Help Now that will be used to support the organization’s programs and services, which include their emergency shelter, counseling, and legal advocacy for victims of abuse. The event also helped to raise awareness about the important work that Help Now does in the community, and encouraged attendees to get involved and support the organization in other ways.

Help Now’s Tapas with a Purpose was a wonderful event that brought together members of the community to support a great cause. By enjoying delicious food and entertainment, guests were able to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence and abuse.
