Human trafficking remains a critical issue affecting communities across the nation, and Florida currently ranks third in the United States for reported cases. In response to this alarming reality, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Osceola County is taking proactive steps to educate and empower residents.
For the first time, in collaboration with the Health Leadership Council, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Osceola County is hosting a Human Trafficking Community Training designed to equip attendees with practical knowledge and tools to recognize, prevent, and respond to human trafficking.
The session will provide valuable insight into how traffickers operate, how vulnerable individuals are targeted, and what warning signs community members should be aware of. Participants will also learn safe and effective ways to report concerns, discover available resources for victims and families, and gain strategies to help protect those who may be at risk.
The Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Osceola County emphasizes that education is one of the strongest tools in the fight against human trafficking. By increasing awareness and fostering collaboration, the department continues its commitment to building a safer, more informed community.
