Jolene Sheive was sworn in Tuesday evening in the Osceola County School District boardroom as the District 3 representative on the Osceola County School Board.
A lifelong resident of Osceola County and a graduate of the Osceola County School District, Sheive attended Reedy Creek Elementary, Thacker Avenue Elementary, Denn John Middle School, and Osceola High School. Her experience attending local schools has given her a personal connection to the district and an appreciation for the role educators play in shaping students and strengthening the community.
“I’m grateful and honored to serve District 3 on the Osceola County School Board,” Sheive said. “I take this responsibility seriously and am committed to serving with focus, integrity, and a collaborative spirit. My priority is to listen, learn, and support our students, teachers, and families while helping provide continuity and stability for our district.”
Sheive said several members of the community encouraged her to apply for the position and that she felt called to step forward and serve.
“My goal is simply to give back to the community that has given so much to me,” Sheive said. “I will lead with my heart while following our district’s policies and working together with fellow board members and district leadership.”
Professionally, Sheive is the broker and owner of Legacy Realty of Central Florida and a partner at SLS Investments of Central Florida, a local real estate investment firm based in Osceola County.
Before entering the real estate industry, Sheive spent 15 years working in the title insurance field with Stewart Title. She later earned her real estate license, obtained her broker’s license, and launched her own real estate brokerage and property management company, where she works with clients and investors throughout Central Florida.
Sheive has also been active in several civic and community leadership roles across Osceola County, serving as Vice Chair of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Osceola County Chamber of Commerce.
She also serves on the Osceola County Education Foundation and is currently serving her second term on the Osceola County Planning Commission. Her additional community involvement includes serving as community service chair for the Rotary Club of Kissimmee, and she previously served on the Junior Achievement of Osceola County Advisory Committee.
Sheive is the mother of two children. Her daughter is a graduate of St. Cloud High School and now attends Auburn University, while her 9-year-old son participates in local sports and activities.
As a member of the School Board, Sheive joins her fellow board members in overseeing policies, budgets, and initiatives affecting more than 70,000 students across the Osceola County School District.
