The City of Kissimmee’s Public Works & Engineering Department announces the temporary closure of Mill Slough Park including the KUA Cumbie Canine Court located at 2138 Agate Street as part of the Mill Slough Restoration Project. The temporary closure of the park and Canine Court will be during the month of June, and it will also include the entrance located at Oak Leaf Lane.
The City of Kissimmee Commission approved on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the acceptance of $1,434,974.25 in federal grant funding that has been awarded to assist with the design and construction of the Mill Slough Restoration Project. This restoration is due to the damaged caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017.
This grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Emergency Watershed Protection Program will provide funding assistance in removing silt and debris, and restore the natural function of the Mill Slough.
The Mill Slough Restoration Project is scheduled to be completed later this year.

Ciudad Anuncia el Cierre Temporero del Parque Mill Slough Debido al Trabajo de Restauración
El Departamento de Obras Públicas e Ingeniería de la Ciudad de Kissimmee anuncia el cierre temporero del parque Mill Slough incluyendo KUA Cumbie Canine Court como parte del Proyecto de Restauración de Mill Slough. El cierre del parque será solo durante el mes de junio.
La Comisión de la Ciudad de Kissimmee aprobó el martes, 6 de noviembre de 2018 la aceptación de $1,434,974.25 en fondos federales. Estos fondos han sido otorgados para asistir con el diseño y la construcción del Proyecto de Restauración de Mill Slough. La restauración se debe a los daños causados por el Huracán Irma en el 2017.
Estos fondos del Departamento de Agricultura de Estados Unidos (USDA por sus siglas en inglés), Servicio de Conservación de Recursos Naturales (NRCS) y el Programa de Protección de Cuencas, proveerá financiación para eliminar sedimentos y escombros y así restaurar la función natural de Mill Slough.
El Proyecto de Restauración está pautado a completarse este año.
