Osceola Arts’ “Art in Public Places” program is showcasing the mesmerizing works of Kissimmee-based artist Rebeca Marrero, now on display at the Buenaventura Lakes Library through December 31, 2024.

Rebeca Marrero’s artistic journey has been anything but conventional. With a background in Fashion Design and Costuming, she spent nearly two decades working on creative projects for clients across the globe. After a hiatus to focus on her family, Marrero rekindled her passion for art, transforming it into a powerful tool for self-expression and healing.

“My work is heavily influenced by my personal journey, lifestyle, and interests,” Marrero explains. “Through Surrealism, I explore my love for symbolism, my connection to my true self, and my continued growth into my higher self. Art has been a vital tool for my mental health, guiding me through life challenges. The contrast between the vibrant colors of my work and the dark backgrounds symbolizes the desire to break free from the darkness we sometimes face.”

Visitors to the library will experience Marrero’s unique artistic vision, with each piece offering a deeply personal yet universally resonant exploration of growth, healing, and self-discovery.
