The City of Kissimmee’s Economic Development Department, along with Kissimmee Gateway Airport, has announced the start of the airport’s large-scale expansion project that should create 19 new hangars by Sheltair Aviation, highly recognized in the industry for its unique combination of aviation and construction expertise.
This significant expansion, marking Phase IV of their development, will extend over 2.7 acres at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM). This ambitious project is set to substantially enhance the hangar capacity, reinforcing the airport’s capabilities in accommodating a growing demand for aviation services.
“Kissimmee Gateway Airport is experiencing significant aviation growth,” says Shaun Germolus, the City of Kissimmee’s Director of Aviation. “Sheltair’s hangar facility expansion will assist us in accommodating the needs of our aviation community and allow for continued positive economic impact to the City of Kissimmee. We value our partnership with Sheltair and look forward to serving even more pilots and aircraft owners thanks to this expansion.”
The new expansion will add almost 40,000 square feet of hangar space to Kissimmee Gateway Airport. Construction on the hangars is scheduled to be completed by summer 2024.

El Aeropuerto Gateway de Kissimmee da la bienvenida a la expansión del hangar de 40 mil pies cuadrados de Sheltair
El Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la Ciudad de Kissimmee y el Aeropuerto Kissimmee Gateway estan contentos de anunciar que Sheltair ha comenzado la construcción para ampliar sus instalaciones de hangar existentes en el Aeropuerto Kissimmee Gateway (ISM). Se trata de la fase IV de su expansión y abarcará 2,7 acres, aumentando considerablemente la capacidad de sus hangares.
