A Kissimmee man has been arrested and is facing armed robbery charges following a SWAT-led raid tied to a May 20 robbery at a local Checkers restaurant.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Ruchamo Pierre-Jeune was taken into custody without incident early Wednesday morning during the execution of a search warrant at a residence located at 214 North Lake Court in Kissimmee.
Pierre-Jeune is accused of entering the Checkers at 1939 East Osceola Parkway on the night of May 20, wearing a mask and armed with a firearm. Investigators say he demanded money from the register before fleeing the scene on foot.
Deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit quickly began investigating the robbery and identified Pierre-Jeune as the suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and a coordinated operation involving the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, aviation unit, and patrol deputies led to Wednesday’s successful apprehension.
Pierre-Jeune is now facing charges of armed robbery.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for its continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to public safety. Officials are encouraging anyone with information related to this incident or any similar cases to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at (407) 348-2222.
