On Tuesday, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested Andrew Baseggio, an officer with the Kissimmee Police Department, after he voluntarily surrendered. The arrest follows a grand jury indictment on multiple charges, including felony battery, two counts of tampering with a witness, official misconduct, solicitation for perjury, and misdemeanor battery.

The charges against Andrew Baseggio originate from an incident on April 22, 2023, when Kissimmee police officers responded to a disturbance call at a home on Brack Street.

According to charging records, Baseggio reportedly entered the home without a warrant and used excessive force that violated the department’s use of force policy. The suspect sustained serious bodily injuries while being taken into custody by Baseggio.

Additionally, Baseggio is accused of tampering with witnesses by discussing their testimony and falsifying a report to evade an internal affairs investigation.

The Kissimmee Police Department has stated that they are fully cooperating with the investigation and that Baseggio has been relieved of his duties pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
