An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on May 10, 2025, in Kissimmee. Officers with the Kissimmee Police Department responded to reports of multiple gunshots just after noon near 1739 North Central Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the shooting followed a verbal dispute that quickly escalated. Police say the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Melvin Rafael Pardo-Acevedo, allegedly fired the fatal shots during the confrontation.

After a thorough investigation, authorities issued a warrant for Pardo-Acevedo’s arrest on a charge of First-Degree Murder with a firearm. He was taken into custody with the help of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Kissimmee Police Chief Charles Broadway credited the successful arrest to the tireless efforts of KPD detectives and the strong partnership with supporting law enforcement agencies.
