For most of his professional life, M. Hannan Khan has worked for both state and local governments in various departments and divisions. Known for his ability to listen to people and to find a way to connect with them, he plans on using those skills to succeed as a Kissimmee Commissioner and to help the community he is part of.
Early in his professional career he was a social worker at HRS/DCF, where he often worked on programs with stakeholders. He has extensive experience working with families in difficult situations; law enforcement; private sector providers; the Guardian Ad Litem Program, and Judges overseeing cases, all which will assist him greatly as a Kissimmee Commissioner.
Mr. Kahn has also worked at the Department of Business and Professional Regulations as an investigator in the Real Estate Division, and later as a health inspector for the Division of Hotels and Restaurants.
Currently he is working as a Municipal Fire Inspector, where he enforces fire and building codes.
His priorities as Kissimmee Commissioner will be:
- Finding gainful employment for Kissimmee’s citizens
- Public Safety
- Improving Infrastructure
- Manage Development
