The Osceola Magic won their sixth straight game Tuesday, defeating the Salt Lake City Stars 131-113 at the Maverik Center.

D.J. Wilson scored a season-high 35 points on 14-of-19 shooting and added nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory.

“We’ve been learning from our mistakes and building good habits,” Wilson said. “When we play team basketball on both ends, the sky is the limit for us. We were locked in defensively tonight, and that helped us lead to many easy buckets. We’re ready to get back to Osceola and protect home court.”

Osceola led at the conclusion of a back-and-forth first quarter that featured four lead changes. The Magic continued to put the pressure on in the first half, building a 67-54 halftime lead on the back of 19 points from Wilson and 21 bench points. Osceola shot 45% from deep and outscored Salt Lake City 34-24 in the paint in the first half.

Alex Morales led the bench effort with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Magic in the contest.

“I have to give a lot of credit to my teammates,” Morales said. “They’ve helped instill a lot of confidence in me throughout the year. I haven’t only been playing my defensive role but also turning on my offense due to them. Also, I have to give them credit for looking back at the film and correcting the mistakes we made in last night’s game.”

Osceola showcased impressive shooting, hitting 53.1% from the field and 40% from three as a team on the night. Defensively, the Magic secured 17 steals and scored 29 points off Salt Lake City turnovers. They dominated in the paint as well, outscoring the Stars 70-54.
