OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A 27-year-old man is facing multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly firing into his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle while she sat in the driver’s seat, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 5 a.m. Saturday to reports of shots fired and an aggravated battery along Fortune Road, where they made contact with a 27-year-old woman who reported a violent encounter with her ex-boyfriend.

Investigators say the incident began earlier that morning, around 1:30 a.m., when the suspect, identified as Josue Emmanuel Figueroa Jr., confronted the victim at a bar. During that encounter, he allegedly physically attacked her before leaving the location. Authorities say the harassment continued afterward through repeated phone calls.

According to deputies, the situation escalated in a parking lot off Fortune Road, where Figueroa allegedly confronted the victim again while she was seated inside her vehicle. During the confrontation, investigators say he fired multiple rounds into the car with the victim still inside.

Authorities also allege that Figueroa battered the victim, stole her cellphone, and fled the scene in a vehicle with his 4-year-old daughter in the back seat.

Detectives later located Figueroa at his residence around 1:15 p.m., but officials say he fled from deputies on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed, initiating a pursuit. The chase ended when the suspect abandoned the motorcycle and ran into a wooded area near Cricket Cradle Drive.

In a critical moment during the search, deputies contacted Figueroa’s mother, who was able to persuade him to come out of the woods and surrender peacefully.

Figueroa was taken into custody and transported to the Osceola County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

He faces a list of charges including attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated stalking, discharging a firearm in public, armed burglary, child neglect, grand theft, criminal mischief, and robbery with a weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Los agentes respondieron alrededor de las 5 a.m. del sábado a reportes de disparos y una agresión agravada en Fortune Road, donde hicieron contacto con una mujer de 27 años que informó haber tenido un violento altercado con su exnovio.

Los investigadores indicaron que el incidente comenzó más temprano esa misma madrugada, alrededor de la 1:30 a.m., cuando el sospechoso, identificado como Josue Emmanuel Figueroa Jr., confrontó a la víctima en un bar. Durante ese encuentro, presuntamente la agredió físicamente antes de abandonar el lugar. Las autoridades señalaron que el acoso continuó posteriormente mediante llamadas telefónicas.

Según los agentes, la situación se intensificó en un estacionamiento cerca de Fortune Road, donde Figueroa presuntamente volvió a confrontar a la víctima mientras ella se encontraba dentro de su vehículo. Durante ese enfrentamiento, los investigadores afirman que disparó múltiples veces contra el automóvil con la víctima aún en su interior.

Las autoridades también alegan que Figueroa agredió a la víctima, le robó su teléfono celular y huyó del lugar en un vehículo con su hija de 4 años en el asiento trasero.

Los detectives localizaron posteriormente a Figueroa en su residencia alrededor de la 1:15 p.m., pero, según los oficiales, huyó de los agentes en una motocicleta a alta velocidad, iniciando una persecución. La persecución terminó cuando el sospechoso abandonó la motocicleta y escapó a pie hacia una zona boscosa cerca de Cricket Cradle Drive.

En un momento clave durante la búsqueda, los agentes contactaron a la madre de Figueroa, quien logró convencerlo de salir del área boscosa y entregarse pacíficamente.

Figueroa fue arrestado y trasladado a la cárcel del Condado de Osceola, donde permanece detenido sin derecho a fianza.

Enfrenta múltiples cargos, incluyendo intento de asesinato, agresión agravada, acoso agravado, disparar un arma de fuego en público, allanamiento a mano armada, negligencia infantil, hurto mayor, daño criminal y robo con arma.
