A man was ejected from his car in a one-car rollover crash early Monday morning on I-4 in Osceola County at World Drive near Celebration before being run over and killed by one or more vehicles, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

According to FHP, the driver was headed westbound on I-4 around 4:20am when he lost control of his car for an unknown reason striking a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn into the eastbound lanes. The man was ejected from his car into the eastbound lanes, troopers said. The man was not wearing a seat belt.

It is believed that the man was run over by more than one eastbound vehicle, with those drivers possibly unaware that they struck the victim, the FHP said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the FHPm, who is looking for more information about the fatal crash that closed Interstate-4 for 5 hours.

All eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed but reopened five hours later.
