KISSIMMEE, Fla. — As more Osceola County residents plan international vacations, cruises, study-abroad opportunities, and mission trips, the Osceola County Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller is reminding the community that passport services are available locally at the Osceola County Courthouse in Downtown Kissimmee.
The Clerk’s Office serves as a passport acceptance facility, allowing residents to apply for new passports, obtain passport photos, and receive assistance with the application process without traveling outside the county.
Passport appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Osceola County Courthouse, located at 2 Courthouse Square in Kissimmee.
Who Must Apply in Person?
According to the U.S. Department of State, applicants must complete Form DS-11 and apply in person if any of the following apply:
- They have never had a U.S. passport.
- They are under age 16.
- Their most recent passport was issued more than 15 years ago.
- Their most recent passport was lost or stolen.
Adults who qualify for a standard renewal may be able to renew their passports directly through the U.S. Department of State without visiting the courthouse.
Required Documents
Applicants should bring proof of U.S. citizenship and proof of identity.
Acceptable citizenship documents include:
- An original or certified birth certificate showing the full names of both parents.
- A Certificate of Naturalization, if applicable.
Applicants must also provide a black-and-white photocopy of their citizenship document. Copies can be made at the Clerk’s Office for $1 per page.
Acceptable proof of identity includes:
- A valid driver’s license.
- A state-issued identification card.
Temporary identification cards are not accepted. Applicants must also provide a photocopy of the front and back of their identification document. Copies are available through the Clerk’s Office for $1 per page.
Passport Photos Available On Site
The Clerk’s Office offers passport photo services for $12. Photos must meet federal requirements, including a white background and a front-facing image. Eyeglasses are not permitted in passport photos under U.S. Department of State regulations.
Passport Fees
Passport fees paid to the U.S. Department of State must be submitted by check or money order only.
For applicants age 16 and older:
- Passport Book: $130
- Passport Card: $30
- Expedited Passport Book Service: $190, or $212.05 with overnight return delivery
For children age 15 and younger:
- Passport Book: $100
- Passport Card: $15
- Expedited Passport Book Service: $160, or $182.05 with overnight return delivery
In addition to federal fees, all applicants must pay a $35 processing fee to the Osceola County Clerk’s Office. The processing fee may be paid by cash or credit/debit card. Debit and credit card transactions are subject to a 3.5% processing fee.
Plan Ahead Before Traveling
While the Clerk’s Office accepts and processes applications, passports are issued by the U.S. Department of State. Processing times can vary depending on demand, and travelers are encouraged to apply well in advance of planned international travel.
The Clerk’s Office notes that passport demand remains strong as more Americans travel abroad and seek federally accepted identification options.
