A man pushing a disabled Chevy Tahoe on State Road 417 in Orange County was killed when a tour bus struck him and the SUV early Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash took place just before 6 am on southbound SR-417 at mile marker 6 near I Drive. SR-417 south was closed at John Young Parkway for most of the morning, but lanes reopened around 9:45 a.m., FHP reported.

Troopers said a Chevrolet Tahoe became broke down in the right lane of 417. The 30-year-old Orlando man attempted to push out of the way when a tour bus driving in the right lane struck the back of the Tahoe and hit the man, pushing the SUV into the guardrail.

A 28-year-old woman and two boys, ages 3 and 4, were inside the SUV at the time of the crash were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

The bus driver, a 56-year-old woman from Kissimmee, was not injured, according to the FHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
