After a stellar start to the season, UCF sophomore McKenzie Milton has been added to the 2017 Maxwell Award Watch List. The Maxwell Award is presented each year to the outstanding collegiate football player in America.

Milton was one of just 13 players added to the watch list on Friday, having led the No. 25 Knights to a 3-0 start to the season and their first national ranking since 2013.

Milton is in the Top 15 nationally in four offensive categories. The quarterback is seventh in passing efficiency (173.0), ninth in yards per attempt (9.65), 11th in yards per completion (14.92), and 14th in total offense (325.7).

He’s averaging 263.7 yards per game through the air, including a 360-yard, four touchdown outing in the season opener that earned him American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced on October 30th and three finalists will be announced November 20th. The winners of the 2017 Maxwell Award will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show, which will be held on December 7th at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

The formal presentation of the award will be made at the Maxwell Football Club Awards Gala hosted by Tropicana Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on March 9, 2018.
