Florida continues to report surging numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases with Monday morning’s Florida Department of Health report showing 12,624 coronavirus new cases, bringing the statewide total to 295,312. Osceola logged in an additional 275 cases bringing the county’s total to 4,587 since March 1, 2020. Of the confirmed positives 4,442 were molecular ( fluid collected from a nasal or throat swab or from saliva) and 145 were antibody positives.

There have been 33 coronavirus-related deaths since March 1 in Osceola County, and currently there are 202 individuals hospitalized. There are currently 36 ICU beds available in Osceola.

Florida health officials are also reporting that 52,943 more COVID-19 virus tests have come back negative, bringing the state’s total negative test results to 2.35 million.

The state positivity rate is now at 10.6% , and the percent positive for new cases reported Monday was 11.5%.

In Osceola County Monday’s report showed a positivity rate of 13.4%.
