Phase two of the repair project at Old Canoe Creek Road began on Wednesday, January 22 with crews working on beginning the rebuilding phase of the area impacted by a pipe failure that took place on December 18, 2019.

Cathcart Construction Company will begin repairing the pipe, sidewalk and north and southbound lanes that were impacted.

During this phase of the restoration, the sections of the road will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic, which is necessary for safety reasons, as well as the scope of the construction area.

Currently, traffic onto Old Canoe Creek Road, between US-192 and Neptune is limited to local traffic only, but access to surrounding business has continues to be open along US-192, Old Canoe Creek Road, and Neptune Road.

The pipe failure took place in St. Cloud between US 192 and Neptune Road and caused a sidewalk to collapse. After close examination the city discovered that the two southbound lanes and adjacent turn lane had also been compromised. The section of the southbound and northbound lanes over the failed pipe remains closed due to the integrity of the roadway.

Traffic flow continues to be monitored with the added temporary traffic light at Neptune and Sgt. Graham Drive.

Positively Osceola will continue to provide updates as the become available.
