Old Tampa Highway will be closed to traffic for 24 hours between Broad Street and Jack Calhoun Drive beginning at 7pm tonight, Saturday March 24, as part of the new Hoagland Boulevard road construction project.
Old Tampa Highway will reopen the following day, March 22, at 7 p.m. The road closure will allow contractors to pour a bridge deck over both old Tampa Highway and the SunRail railroad tracks as part of the Hoagland Boulevard project.
Motorists are advised to use U.S. Highway 17-92 as a southern east-west detour and U.S. Highway 192 for northern east-west travel, or follow the detour signs to alternate routes.
The dates and times of this work may change, depending on weather conditions and other unforeseen construction issues that may arise in the field.
