During Friday’s Osceola County Emergency Operations Center press conference Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson warned residents of scammers who have been knocking on doors and offering coronavirus tests for a  fee.

The Sheriff said the department  received a complaint on Thursday about suspects who were knocking on doors and representing themselves as Red Cross workers, then offering COVID-19 tests. He asked anyone that might encounter the suspects to call 911. He also warned the community to expect more online and email scams involving vaccines for COVOD-19. There are no vaccines for COVI-19.

“Sadly there are a lot of bad people out there and we don’t want you to give them your hard-earned cash,” Sheriff Gibson said.
