Old Town, an iconic walking district of shops, food, entertainment and events for more than 34 years, will hold its annual Cruiser Toy Drive this year on Friday, Dec. 1, starting at 3 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. for both cruisers and the public to donate unwrapped toys. All of the collected toys will be given to the Osceola Council on Aging for local distribution.
“Our cruisers get very excited about this,” explains Thearon Scurlock, President and General Manager of the Old Town Entertainment District. “Hundreds of them show up for the car cruise both days and come early to drop off their toys. They get everyone into the spirit of giving.”
According to Scurlock, Old Town collects an average of $5,000 a year in coins from the fountains on property and use the funds to purchase toys for the Cruiser Toy Drive, in addition to the toys donated by the cruisers and the public.
During both Cruise Toy Drive days, Santa will be visiting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with an exclusive photo opportunity for just $10.
Located on U.S. 192 in Kissimmee, Old Town boasts over 60 unique shops, themed restaurants and bars, rides, weekly car shows, and family-friendly attractions.
