On Tuesday, March 15, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is inviting the community to celebrate “Shoe the World Day” by donating shoes to benefit neighbors across Central Florida. The day sheds light on the importance of and need for quality footwear for millions of people worldwide who can’t afford or don’t have access to it.

Anyone interested in donating gently used shoes and sneakers can do so at their local Goodwill store or Donation Xpress Center.

Living daily without protection on your feet can lead to a lifetime of problems including pain, injury, cuts, sores, infections, parasites. Schools and businesses ban students and customers without shoes. We attach stigmas to people who do not have proper footwear, too.

Donations allow Goodwill to provide low-cost goods to the community while also providing resources and jobs to Central Floridians. Revenue generated through sales of these donated items fund the organization’s job placement and training services, as well as its vocational rehabilitation program.

WHEN: Tues., March 15
9 am – 8 pm at retail stores
8 am – 7 pm at Donation Xpress Centers (Monday – Saturday)
8 am – 6 pm at Donation Xpress Centers (Sunday)
