A four-vehicle crash on South Poinciana Boulevard and north of Pleasant Hill Road, killed a Poinciana man and injured two children Wednesday afternoon, causing South Poinciana Boulevard to close down for hours.
According to Florida Troopers, a van driving on Pleasant Hill Road around 1:26 p.m. was attempting to turn left onto South Poinciana Boulevard when a 2010 Honda Insight that was driving north on the painted median along the boulevard, turned directly into the van’s path.
The van struck the Honda causing the Honda to enter the southbound lanes and begin overturning, the FHP crash report said. The Honda then collided with the front of an oncoming SUV.
The engine of the Honda became separated from the vehicle and crashed into an oncoming sedan that was headed north along South Poinciana Boulevard, according to the crash report.
The 31-year-old Poinciana man that was driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers. The driver of the SUV and her 2-year-old and 5-year-old passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, troopers said.
No one in the the other two vehicles was injured, according to FHP.
