Sooner than later, those in the city of St. Cloud who need to pull and pay for permits will be able to do so online.

The city’s IT staff is in the final stages of having Community Development ready for launch. It’s an internet-based software package that allows online access to most city resources 24 hours a day.

Initially, users will be able to submit building plans and permits, request inspections, track reviews and monitor building permits. Eventually, a payment portal will be included in the final phase.  of the project. The Building, Code Enforcement, Environmental Utilities, Planning and Zoning and Public Works departments and St. Cloud Fire Rescue will be using Community Development.

Launch is set for later this month. In anticipation, city staff will be unable to process plans, permits or licensing next Friday, Nov. 15. (scheduled inspections will continue, and normal service will resume on Nov. 18).

So, as valuable as time and money, patience is also requested by the city as it transitions to this new online system that will make city business more efficient in the future.
