On Monday, April 1, 2019, Osceola County Commissioners recognized the Osceola County Animal Services with a Proclamation announcing April 1– 7th as Osceola County Animal Services Volunteer Appreciation Week. This amazing group of individuals who volunteer at Osceola County Animal Services has made a huge difference in the quality of life of countless pets in Osceola County.

In 2018, volunteers at Osceola County Animal Services provided a total of 13,080 hours in addition to 21,669 foster days which exceeded the value of $1 million of volunteer hours. Volunteers gave their time in many areas of the shelter’s operation including, veterinary clinic, on and offsite events, dog walking, training, playgroups, website development, and pet fostering.

Osceola County Animal Services volunteers have been instrumental in the life-saving efforts and have helped to bring the overall live release rate from approximately 30 percent in 2012 to 74 percent in 2018.
