Osceola County has issued its guidelines for how it will hold in-person graduations at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park July 8-10.
It is a great sign that it looks like graduations will be able to be held despite COVID-19 still being an issue.
Facial masks for graduates will provided by the district and must be worn. Graduates will be temperature checked on the way into the arena, and are asked not to bring anything in that needs to be carried like cell phones and cameras, as there is no storage for personal items and graduates will not be able to return to the setup area or arena after the ceremony.
Each senior will receive four tickets for guests that they can pick up at their school’s rehearsal, usually the day before the ceremony – check with your school for details. No extra tickets will be available.
For the grads, gentlemen are expected to wear a light colored dress shirt and tie, dark dress pants, socks and dress shoes. Ladies are asked to wear a dark dress or dark dress pants and a light blouse and dress shoes; heels must be two inches or less (Remember, you’ll be climbing stairs to reach the stage!)
So congratulations to the Class of 2020 – it looks like you’re going to get your graduation ceremony after all!
