The Osceola County School District is making strides to meet the growing educational needs of the community with the construction of the new Kindred K-8 School, also referred to as “School AA.” Scheduled to open for the 2025-2026 academic year, this state-of-the-art facility, located in the rapidly expanding Kindred community, represents a $74.6 million investment in the county’s educational infrastructure.
On Tuesday, the Osceola County School Board officially appointed Frank Telemko as the principal of the new school. Telemko brings an impressive 30+ years of experience in education to his role, with a strong track record of leadership across multiple schools in the district. His career includes positions as a teacher and dean at Narcoossee Middle and Thacker Avenue Elementary, assistant principal at Lakeview Elementary and Parkway Middle, and principal roles at Lakeview Elementary, Narcoossee Middle, and Harmony Middle.
Telemko holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, equipping him with both the academic expertise and practical experience to lead this new school.
The Kindred K-8 School, which celebrated its groundbreaking in February 2024, is designed to accommodate approximately 1,495 students, serving families in one of Osceola County’s fastest-growing neighborhoods. The innovative facility includes:
- A three-story building featuring a classroom wing, administration suite, media center, fine arts wing, gymnasium, and cafeteria.
- Outdoor amenities such as a 400-meter running track with a soccer infield and three full-size basketball courts.
- Separate parent and bus loops with covered canopies, parking for approximately 200 vehicles, and an on-site queue designed to handle up to 297 cars, ensuring traffic flow and safety during pick-up and drop-off times.
This new K-8 school is part of the district’s broader vision to create community hubs, where students can remain in the same environment from kindergarten through eighth grade. The school’s design fosters continuity in education and a strong sense of belonging for families.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff has emphasized the importance of this project, stating that schools like Kindred K-8 are critical not only for addressing rapid growth but also for attracting families to Osceola County. “Schools are often the heart of a community. This facility reflects our commitment to providing high-quality learning environments where students can thrive.”
As the inaugural principal, Frank Telemko is poised to bring stability, leadership, and a wealth of experience to the new school. With a career dedicated to student achievement and a passion for fostering strong school communities, Telemko is ready to lead Kindred K-8 into a bright future.
