The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in Kissimmee held its much-anticipated Awards and Longevity Ceremony in early December. The event recognizes the dedicated men and women of the Sheriff’s Office who have displayed exceptional service, unwavering commitment, and years of dedicated service to the community.

The Awards and Longevity Ceremony is a time-honored tradition at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, and on December 3rd, under the leadership of Sheriff Marcos Lopez  the ceremony was particularly special. It was an opportunity to not only acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments of the department’s personnel but also to celebrate the milestones achieved in terms of longevity and dedication.

The ceremony kicked off with Sheriff Marcos Lopez expressing his gratitude for the dedicated service of his team. He stated, “Thank you all for coming today, we’re here not just to recognize individual achievements but to celebrate the collective strength of our Sheriff’s Office family. Every day, our deputies and employees work tirelessly to make Osceola County a safer place, and today, we’re here to thank them.”

During the event, several awards and commendations were presented to individuals and teams who had gone above and beyond the call of duty. Each award was a testament to the unwavering dedication of the Sheriff’s Office personnel in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

Back the Blue Award:

This year’s ceremony also included a special recognition: the Back the Blue award from the Osceola Chamber of Commerce. This award was presented by Rob Rosen, financial advisor with Edward Jones, and Keith Ronan, co-founder of Positively Osceola. The Back the Blue Award, that was founded by Rob Rosen, recognizes Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Employees of the Month. During the December ceremony, it honored August 2023 Employee of the Month Javier Cruz, September 2023 Employee of the Month Detective Ruth Marrero, October 2023 Employee of the Month Detective Courtney Adelsperger, and November 2023 Employee of the Month Deputy Gary Johnson for their outstanding contributions to the community.
